This is How We Do It...

So, on the heels of my last post about doing more of what matters and less of what has been incumbent upon me to support our "lifestyle", I've managed to manifest some massive change.

Last week, I wrote the last rent check that I will write for a year, maybe more.
Not stepping totally off the grid, but stepping away from the center of it all for a while...equally to send my son to music production school AND to focus on work I WANT to do instead of work I have to do to pay for things that don't really matter.  And the end result will be more abundance...in every way.

Moving to a small family home that's been sitting there empty for a while.  It's modest and remote.  Extremely.  But, it'll do!
I'm seriously looking forward to downsizing, removing distractions, prioritizing what matters.  We are replacing water lines, electrical wiring, etc.  And I guess I'm gonna have to live with the...ahem...lovely red carpet throughout for a while.  Small price to pay.

Family and friends got together for a work-party this last weekend.  I was a little overwhelmed by the outpouring of support - donations of supplies, time, sweat and genuine concern for
getting things situated for me and my son.  My son was equally moved.  He sat in a corner for a while, nauseous, realizing this is real, no more talk, I've gotta follow through and do my part, too.  Yes, exactly.  Accountability is a beautiful thing.

Being a part of the cannabis and hemp industries require me to be very intentional about where I put my energy.  I've already started building a business in that regard, and am so excited to have a chance to fulfill my wildest dreams and be the vessel for some change.

And of course...to be able to make it possible for my son to pursue his own dreams...well, that is priceless.

I'm a huge advocate of questioning the status quo, taking that road-less-traveled, and creating ways to accomplish what many people tell me can't be done.

And I'm infinitely grateful to have the opportunity to focus on and create things that have been stirring in me for a long, long time. Me (and each of us!)...a soul in a body with a purpose that exceeds the daily rat race. And I am so excited to be able to focus on that purpose. It is our individual "purposes" that make the world a better place. Let the adventure & the abundance begin... Stay tuned, if you'd like to follow the journey.

My goal in sharing my story is to inspire others to find creative ways to manifest their own stories, too...

Dream in Action

So, the other day I heard myself tell a friend of mine, "I'm tired of only writing other people's projects. I need to spend more time on my own! And that means making time for my own!"

And I meant it.  On the verge of another birthday, the symbolic representation of a new year and fresh start, this whole thing is at the forefront of my mind.  Don't get me wrong; I love people's stories.  Heck, I love people.  I have worked with - and continue to work with - myriad clients, all of them amazing people on missions to share their experiences and insights and shed some light into the world.  I enjoy learning about what makes them tick, what drives them and love being the conduit for their work.  And I'm really grateful to be able to make a significant portion of my living stringing together words into pieces of inspiration and motivation for more people than I'm even aware of.  Still...

I started writing when I was a kid because I knew had things to say.  So, it's time to start saying more of them.

That means diving in headlong.  Taking action.  Working on my priorities.  And further developing my entrepreneurial ventures to allow more time for...for my own writing and more entrepreneurism!

Online magazine for women?  Yup!  Cannabis edibles and hemp based foods business?  Yup!
Both are in the works.  Time to step it up.  Where and how we spend our time and create our actions is where we create energy for things that become our priorities, whether we like it or not and whether we are conscious of it or not.

Time to take action and send the Universe a conscious message.  The return on that investment will be exponential...and not just for me!
